Leaders at Porthpean

All leaders at Porthpean are volunteers. They come from churches all over the country and most are involved in youth and children's work on a regular basis. All leaders have training for their roles and specifically in safety and child protection matters. All leaders must obtain an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.

The leadership team at Porthpean is more than 70 people in each week. More than 130 people are directly involved! We have full teams for which we give thanks to God.

Each camp is organised into eight villages for activities. Each village has a girls' tent and a boys' tent, each with six members and two tent leaders. Tent leaders support members throughout camp and make sure that they have a great time. The village is led by two village leaders who join in the activities and make sure the village is in the right place at the right time!

The spiritual programme is led by those in the worship team, with overall leaders they plan the outline of the programme in advance, lead worship workshops and run the evening meetings.

Junior camp leaders provide children of Leaders with a full spiritual and physical programme so parents are free to work with Members, and also take as full a part as possible in the spiritual aspects of camp.

Cooks produce wonderful food, on time, for members, leaders and children in junior camp and take part in camp life as fully as possible, especially the spiritual programme.
